COIMBRA
Estádio Cidade de Coimbra - 12th May 2007

George Michael in Coimbra: A world pop and visual
Joana Brandão
Portugal has always been much given to revival. What is it continues to have more air time than what is or what will be. Therefore, an opportunity to relive the 80 and 90 is always welcome. Better still if we recall in a format best of the best of these decades in just over two hours. It happened yesterday in Pakistan. When I first visited Portugal George Michael brought the show to celebrate 25 years of providing career presents a journey that reminded adolescence to now parents of a generation.
For who has waited 25 years can also expect a further 25 minutes, the concert was delayed allowing the Estádio Cidade de Coimbra writing if there were so many empty spaces. George Michael deserved sellout, as provided in 22 of 30 dates for Europe, but the presence of 27 thousand people fell short of expectations. 'Waiting' opened the show which lasted two hours, twenty minutes apart. Alone on stage with 57 meters wide, on top of a structure of LEDs in the waveform, showed George Michael to come and recovered from the 15 years he kept away from touring. The 15 musicians who accompany him on "25 Live Tour" made themselves heard, of course, but far from public view. Distributed over two floors in the back of the stage, the band had to wait for the end of the concert to be noticed in the credits that distracted the crowd as George Michael got into the car and, with beaters, abandoned Coimbra.
